As I reflect on the past few months, stepping into the high-stakes and dynamic cauldron of the Indian Premier League for the first time as a physiotherapist with Delhi Capitals has been nothing short of a dream. It’s safe to say it’s been one of my professional career’s most intense and rewarding chapters. As someone who has worked with elite athletes before, I thought I understood intensity. But nothing could prepare me for the unique blend of adrenaline, pressure, culture, and camaraderie that defines the IPL. From 10-hour travel days to the late-night injury assessments, my first season was a crash course in high-performance care at the very edge of sport’s elite frontline.

History Made – A Physiotherapist Viewpoint

The 2023/24 season marked the first-ever professional season in women’s cricket in South Africa for the T20 and 50-over format competitions.  A landmark moment for female cricket in our country. While the T20 competition was a forgone conclusion long before the season closed, the 50-over tournament came down to the very last match day, with the team securing victory against the title-challenging DP World Lions Ladies team.
